MARIO MUSIC ORIGINALLY FROM THE 40’S? Wait I don’t get it? Mario was not around in the 40’s. Posted by Michael Krasner on Dec 1, 2008 21:27 (Dec 1, 2008 21:27) |
So I was doing my daily routine of looking on Youtube for cool, old videos of music or dancing or whatever. I came across a clip from a movie, Stormy Weather, which was made in 1943. During the routine the famed Nicholas Brothers are dancing and then the pianist chimes in with some familiar music that I’ve heard before. Although I recommend you to watch the whole video (the dancing is amazing), I want you to pay close attention to what the pianist is playing from 2:50 to 3:05. Sound familiar? Well here is some guy playing music from the Mario games. Pay close attention at 1:30 to 1:40. Whoa!!!! So does this mean that some of the Mario music was sampled from old bandstand music? Possibly. It could be that that little "jingle" could be an old piano chime that everyone learns when playing the piano. Feel free to comment and let us know whether this is a genuine sample or an old piano chime or your opinion about the matter. |
