3 BEST FOOTBALL/SOCCER GAMES EVER
Kickin’ balls with a controller, which games do it best?

Posted by Michael Krasner on Jan 3, 2009 09:34 (335 days ago)

So football/soccer games have been going on for a while now and I think it is time to rate what the best ones are. So... here you go!

1. FIFA 2003

Remember that feeling when you buy a game and you are holding the CD case and you are just thinking to your self how awesome this game is going to be? Well, I had this feeling when I bought the game and I am sure that many other people had this feeling. The gameplay was ridiculously fun and with new features like the ability to flick the ball into the path of a running teammate, the smoothness of the game was remarkable. Player likeliness was also present in the game and let me tell you that when I played with Arsenal, watch out because Thierry Henry is-a-comin’. Also why this game is on the list is because it was one of the FIFAs where you could slide tackle the goalkeeper. Ah, memories...

2. Pro Evolution Soccer

When this game came out in 2001, FIFA was the dominant force and everybody thought it was impossible to knock it off of it’s throne. Those people were wrong and PES turned out to be totally awesome. Although the game didn’t feature licensees of real leagues and teams etc. the gameplay was truly un-be-liv-able. The fluidity was out of control and flick-ons and one-twos and more just made this the most realistic football/soccer game (at the time of it’s release).

3. FIFA 2009

Numero Uno! FIFA 09 is the cream of the crop. Never has a game played so well, and looked so good. In FIFA 08, which was a good game, there was something missing and FIFA 09 fixed all of those problems. The pac of the game is just right and when you get a long chain of passes it looks and feels so damn good! The ball and player physics are the most realistic ever and to be honest with you, once, my Dad actually thought I was watching a real game instead of playing FIFA 09. Even if the online frame-rate is a little shaky, the liscesences, even more teams, more stadiums, and most importantly much improved gameplay, FIFA 09 is definatly the best football/soccer game ever.
