TOP 5 GAMES TO FEATURE EGGS![]() Posted by Thomas Worthington on Apr 12, 2009 08:51 (232 days ago) |
Easter is upon us and to celebrate such a non-religious tasty holiday you’ll need some games to get you into the spirit of the season. Unfortunately we couldn’t track down a big enough list of games where saviours are sacrificed and reborn, so we decided to go with eggs.
So here it is, five games to remind you what Easter is pretty much all about…eggs.
Pokemon Gold/Silver
Platform: Gameboy
Use of Eggs: Hatching new Pokemon
At the arrival of the first Pokemon sequels Gold and Silver, many were happy to find a new method of attaining new Pokemon was available to them through breeding.
Now that Pokemon were available in male and female varieties, handing them to a rather strange day care centre owner for a few days would result in an egg.
The idea was to carry the egg around on your travels and when you had carried the egg long enough, it would hatch a new Pokemon. This feature has since returned for countless others in the series.
Also, let’s not forget the egg type Pokemon such as Togepi, Execute and Chansey is known for carrying an egg.
Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots
Platform: PS3
Use of Eggs: Fortelling mission success
Again it’s not eggs-actly (see what I did there) a game where eggs have a starring role, although eggs do make their appearance at the start of each mission briefing.
Sunny Gurlukovich starts each mission by cooking eggs for Old Snake and her guardian Hal ‘Otacon’ Emmerich. She uses cooking eggs as a way of foretelling how the successful the groups’ current mission will be. She calls this her ‘Sunny side up’ fortune telling method.
The three chickens that lay these eggs are called Sold, Liquid and Solidus.
